Meet Our Newest Charity Partners: Building Community Together, Part 2

Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 | Charity Partners, CTS News & Features

At Community Thrift Store (CTS), we’re continually inspired by the generosity of our community. Each donated item helps fund essential programs and services across San Francisco — proving that everyday actions can have extraordinary impact.
In this second installment of our charity partner series, we’re highlighting six more incredible organizations whose work spans healthcare, the arts, animal rescue, youth mentorship, and early education. Together, they embody the compassion, creativity, and resilience that define our city.

Frameline

Frameline has spent nearly 50 years celebrating and amplifying LGBTQ+ voices through film. Known for producing the world’s largest and longest-running LGBTQ+ film festival, the organization also funds, restores, and distributes queer cinema year-round — ensuring these stories are preserved and shared with new audiences.

“Like CTS, Frameline is built on a sense of community. By sharing our stories, we ensure that LGBTQ+ people continue to shape their own narratives.”

Frameline was inspired to partner with CTS after hearing from members who love supporting local organizations. As they approach their 50th anniversary in 2026, Frameline continues to bring people together through storytelling and connection. Through their partnership with CTS, Beyond Rescue gains additional resources to fund lifesaving care and adoptions. Discover how you can foster, adopt, or support their work at gobeyondrescue.org.

SF Skate Club

Using skateboarding as a tool for mentorship since 2007, SF Skate Club empowers youth through creativity, leadership, and community engagement. Their after-school programs blend physical activity with life skills, encouraging young people to find confidence on and off the board.

“We just love being part of what you do! CTS uplifts our mission and all the amazing organizations you partner with.”

Mission Kids

Mission Kids is a play-based preschool in San Francisco’s Mission District, providing high-quality, inclusive early education for local families. With an emphasis on cultural diversity, creativity, and family involvement, they offer a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

“As a school serving the Mission, we are thrilled to partner with a thrift store in the neighborhood that chooses to give back to organizations like ours.”

Outside donations help Mission Kids maintain affordable tuition and resources for their primarily low-income student body. Admissions for the 2026–27 school year begin soon — visit missionkidssf.org for dates and information sessions.
